Bio
Nina, founder and principal of Nina McGuffin LLC, brings 18 years of management and coaching experience to her work with clients. Known for her warmth and insight, Nina helps leaders and teams create positive results and develop new capacities for navigating change successfully both personally and in their teams and organizations.
After a successful career in college publishing in sales and product management, Nina left corporate life to pursue her interest in helping individuals develop to their full potential both personally and professionally. In 2001 she founded Equilibrium Coaching LLC and has been coaching and training leaders and teams to greater success ever since. With experience working in a Fortune 500 company, Nina understands firsthand the demands of corporate life. She believes that increasing emotional intelligence helps leaders and teams achieve more with less effort.
Nina received her coaching certification and leadership training through the Coaches Training Institute, one of the world’s premier coaching schools. She has also completed advanced training in systems and relationship coaching through CTI. Nina works has expertise with several assessments including being qualified to interpret the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. She holds an MA from the University of Chicago where her studies focused on workplace dynamics.
A dynamic speaker, Nina has been a presenter at the ICF International Coaching Conference, the International Association of Administrative Professionals, the Business Forum and NAWBO Greater Madison, and featured in the Capital Times. As immediate past president of the Greater Madison Chapter of the International Coach Federation, McGuffin was instrumental in establishing the coaching profession in Wisconsin.
Nina lives with her husband and two children in Madison, Wisconsin, and enjoys reading, yoga, and cooking for family and friends.
